I purchased this for my sister for Christmas. She's wanted an enamel-coated dutch oven for quite some time and the Le Creuset brand just isn't in our budget. She was very excited when she received this and after using it, she's hooked! She doesn't even want to use any other cookware. This is completely worth the purchase! The pot is nice and heavy, the finish is beautiful and it's exactly what you're looking for with an enamel-coated dutch oven.

In my limited use of this product, my positives mirror others posted here. Appears to be every bit the weight and quality of those $300 ovens out there. The main complaint I've seen is that the knob melts if it is placed in an oven at 400 degrees or greater. Not a problem here - mine came with a stainless steel knob. Even if your's didn't, you can always buy the $11 one available on Amazon, or go to Home Depot and buy any SS cabinet knob for about $5-7 bucks.

Update: Made ham-bone soup with the oven today using the Honeybaked mix and our Xmas leftover bone. Simmered for about 4 hrs - amazing heat retention. The soup (about 4.5-5 quarts) simmered on barely above a low burner setting the whole time. After, it rinsed clean. Good pot.

This 6-Quart enamel dutch oven is great for cooking, marinating, refrigeration and freezing. The color porcelain enamel on cast iron can be used on gas, electric, ceramic, as well as in the oven. The cookware is cast from molten iron in individual sand molds then coated with multiple porcelain layers. The porcelain surface eliminates the need to season cast iron creating a smooth, hard surface that is easy to clean while maintaining superior heat distribution and heat retention. Better heat retention will actually reduce the amount of energy needed for cooking so it saves money. Tightly fitting lid seals in moisture. Stainless steel knob is oven safe to 400-Degree Fahrenheit. Not recommended for use on outdoor grills or over open outdoor flames. Not for use in microwaves. The black rim on the pot is matte porcelain, not exposed cast iron. Although dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water is recommended to preserve the cookware's original appearance. 10-3/4-Inch diameter, 4-1/2-Inch deep. Pumpkin
